Easy to install, easy to use.

OLDER REVIEWS HAVE SAID THE SAME THING BUT THIS PROBLEM HAS STILL NOT BEEN FIXED. THE APPLICATION DOESNT FIT ON MY MACBOOK AIR DISPLAY. CANT EVEN USE THE APP AT ALL.

This is simple. It does one thing. I’m good at hunting down large files and erasing them. This tool is my goto now. Have run it on 3+ machines, all good so far. It was hard for me to learn at first, as an old-timer. The design is solid, speciliazed, and easy-to-use.

EASY! I hate using my desktop because the kids put so much junk on it. This is an easy way to free up space.

Won’t let me scan my hard drive and erase large files. Only allows me to scan the User profile. What a waste!

I have been using this app since April of 2014 and I like the way it works. It is simple and intuitive and reduces the clutter while freeing up my disk space. After upgrading to Yosemite the app started crashing after pressing the SCAN button. I have a 2011 iMac and a 2013 rMBP and they both crashed repeatedly. I emailed Ben (HD Cleaner Support) and within 4 minutes I had recevied a response and a fix to my issue. I would highly recommend this app for its functionality alone, but this type of support puts it over the top. JB

Clean, quick app that is straightforward to use; however it does not go a long way in cleaning up your Mac. When you’re pressed for space which often happens on smaller SSD, you need to know which files occupy most space and could be offloaded to an external volume (e.g. pictures, mail files, etc). This app only does basic cleaning but doesn’t give you an option to investigate where you can reclaim space beyond trash files. It would be great to be able to clean/archive mailbox and identify largest folders.

App DOES in fact work and clear things out … WAY WAY faster than the usual EMPTY TRASH IN fact, it was quite slow emptying my trash since the upgrade to yosemite! I will install some more memory soon but in the mewantime this app does work great by clearing out memory and moving the speed up a bit.

The best app...

Before using this application, I wasnt able to save a single song, picture, or even word document. I searched and searched through my macbook pro to find where all the used storage could have been coming from, and I absolutely couldnt find anything that was taking up an incredible amount of space. HD Cleaner is simple, easy, and fast to use, and immediately showed me where all the hidden files were that my computer wasnt allowing me to access and see. I was able to reclaim over 15gig on the first use, and I am so grateful that I did. I would 100% reccommend this app!

DId the job for me, good app...

While I find this program nice, my problem is with the OTHER that’s eating up over 73GB of my hard drive. I still can’t figure out where OTHER is. This program didn’t help me find it either. It did help me find the obvious and it’s easy to use hence the four stars, but I wish it helped us the user find more.

Needless to say, It’s worth using.

This app did exactly what I needed. I had no room left on my laptop and it found all the extra space and I saved over 12GB. I’m sure a lot of people will get back even more than I did.

It also has a very clean structure and the program can be esiliy learned for future cleanups.

Completely useless program is not worth the money.

After purchasing and running the app, and it saying that it could free up 1.7GB of space, I completed the ‘clean up’ and then checked my About This Mac’ within Yosemite OS and found no change to the storage numbers. It had a nice ‘bell sound’ upon completing the clean up, which was not matched by the actual job it did, so no whistle from me! :-(

I’m not sure why 88 people thought this ap was so great. It cleaned up 1.7GB…not much. You’ll get better results by googling “clean up macbook hard drive” and following the directions.

When I add up the storage used in my folders (including applications), the total is 22 GB. But “About this Mac” says I’m using close to 60 GB! Trying to find an app that will help me locate what on my hard drive is taking up space. This one just searches the folders you select, and I can tell what’s in those.
